House points
At Northgate Primary, we use house points to celebrate children being ready, respectful and safe at all times. Children earn points for demonstrating our values in lessons, around the site, and during school activities. Each week, totals are shared so pupils can see how their contributions help their house.
House points are awarded fairly and consistently, recognising a wide range of positive behaviours. This includes working hard in class, showing resilience, helping others, displaying good manners, and taking part enthusiastically in learning. Our aim is to encourage children to take pride in their actions and to support one another, not just to compete.
We encourage parents and carers to talk with their children about what they have earned and why it matters. If you notice your child showing the Northgate values at home—such as being respectful, making safe choices or trying their best—please feel free to mention it to staff. Together, we can make house points a positive part of school life and a meaningful way to recognise progress.
