Accessibility

Our Commitment

We are committed to ensuring that every member of our school community — pupils, parents, staff, and visitors — can access our facilities, curriculum, and information equally, regardless of any special educational needs or disabilities. We believe that inclusion is not just a legal duty, but a moral one, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported.

Aims

Our accessibility plan and practices aim to:

  • Increase access to the curriculum for pupils with SEND, ensuring teaching and learning are tailored to individual needs.
  • Improve the physical environment to enable full participation in school life.
  • Enhance the availability of accessible information for pupils, parents, and visitors.

How We Support Accessibility

  • Differentiated teaching strategies and personalised learning plans (where needed).
  • Staff training in SEND awareness and inclusive teaching methods.
  • Accessible classrooms, signage, and facilities (including ramps, lifts, and adapted toilets wherever possible).
  • Provision of large-print, audio, or digital formats for key documents.
  • Use of assistive technology to support learning and communication.

Ongoing Review

We review our accessibility plan every three years (or sooner if needed) to ensure it reflects current needs, legislation, and best practice. Feedback from pupils, parents, and staff is actively encouraged to help us improve.
