Anglo-Saxons and Scots

History

  • Roman withdrawal from Britain c AD410
  • Scots invasion from Ireland to North Britain
  • Anglo-Saxon invasions, settlements and kingdoms: place names and village life (visit to West Stow Anglo-Saxon village)
  • Anglo-Saxon art and culture
  • Christian conversion – Canterbury, Iona and Lindisfarne

Science

Properties and changes of materials (Material World – Rising Stars)

  • Compare and group materials based on their properties.
  • Know that some materials will dissolve to form a solution
  • Use filtering, sieving and evaporation to separate mixtures.
